WITCHLING (Sisters of the Moon #1)

Author: Yasmine Galenorn

From Goodreads: Meet the D'Artigo sisters: half-human, half-faerie, they're savvy-and sexy-operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But their mixed-blood heritage short-circuits their talents at all the wrong times. Delilah shapeshifts into a tabby cat whenever she's stressed. Menolly's a vampire who's still trying to get the hang of being undead. And Camille is a wicked-good witch, except her magic's as unpredictable as the weather, as her enemies are about to find out-the hard way.

My Review: Walking around Borders, texting my friend Mindy in trying to find another book to read, I'm pretty bummed out because not only is the next book in the Lara Adrian's, Midnight Breed series gone off the bookshelf but it seems the books she is recommending me to read, I just can't seem to find. I wander down a few rows in the Romance section and this book with a brunette woman leering out caught my attention.

The title, "WITCHLING", along with the caption, "Meet three semi-supernatural sisters out to save otherworld..." intrigued me even more. I mean, what is "semi-supernatural"? What is "otherworld"? Is that this world, a different world, a world of supernatural? I had too many questions just by those two things alone.

The gold sparkles in the eyes of the woman on the cover were another drawing point. I stared at the cover a little more, one should know this about me. I don't read the backs of books. I stare at the cover and go over the detailing. I really loved the artwork on the cover, with the mix of rich purples and secrets to be told black. Another selling point, no Fabio-esk man looking longingly at the brunette in a distance. Which means to me that it has a love story, that’s why it’s in the Romance section, but the romance isn't what the book is about. Yes, sadly, I judge a book by its cover. I must admit, that is the fun part for me. I've been wrong on some occasions, but for the most part I've been pretty good at judging.

Being said all that, after looking at the cover, determining that I want to know what a "Semi-supernatural" individual was, along with wanting to know who or what was a "Witchling" and the eyes of the character on the cover calling me in. I paid my 8 bucks, and that was best thing I've done.

A paranormal series about three sisters, Camille, Menolly and Delilah who have to take on their enemies as well as find time to be a family is just a scratch on the surface. Each sister has such a unique personality, its very hard to tell who could be a favorite, you have a witch, a vampire and a shapeshifter, all three I love so much. Couple that with the fact that these sisters, are half-human,half faerie and their talents go astray sometimes, kept me laughing or biting my nails in anticipation. Just the fact that the sister Delilah is a shapeshifter that shifts to a tabby cat makes one want to know more.

I could not put this book down simply because the author Yasmine Galenorn had me sitting at the edge of my seat wanting more. There is not a moment where I want to put this book down, and when I did, I began thinking of the possibilities of what was going to happen next. The best thing about this series is the unknown that Author Jasmine places upon the reader. The unknown of what’s to come, and even the unknown of the girls past. I look forward to reading the second book in this series and to learn more about the sisters.
